Pine Mountain Club - the "Galleria"
is located at 6100'
Welcome to Pine Mountain Club, California! Did you know there is a little-known hidden jewel located in the mountains just 18 miles from the I-5 turnoff to Frazier Park...ONE hour south of Bakersfield and just ONE hour north from the crowded San Fernando Valley? (See actual distances below)
Galleria is located at 6100 feet in the upper elevations of Pine Mountain Club, where the air is much cooler in the summer and sunnier in the winter...the air is cleaner, fresher, and the scent of the pines surrounds you! The skies are definitely bluer, the stars are much brighter...the trees larger...the area activities are more restful for your soul!
Our Pine Mountain Club Vacation retreat is a one-of-a-kind, privately owned retreat set up for your enjoyment! This home was built in 2008 and is three stories with "light, light, light!" as virtually every window opens to tree or mountain views! We are displaying many works of art on the walls, hence the "Galleria" name, and this will provide you a fabulous place to get away, read a good book out on the decks, pick your favorite movies from the many hundreds in the retreat's video collection and watch them on any of the 3 plasma/LCD/TVs...or better yet, get out and enjoy all of the activities available in the area.
So, Come...Join Us...Slow down a little...gaze at the stars through our telescope! Below is our great little valley...and Galleria is pretty much at the tip of the arrow.

Please remember that Pine Mountain Club is in the middle of bear country with also a population of coyotes and sometimes even from an occasional mountain lion. Last years, there were forest fires 20 miles away which drove many wild animals out of those burned areas. As a result, bears have been seen in the PMC area in increasing numbers. At least 8 have gained access to homes through screen doors, but to my knowledge, there have been no injury encounters here at PMC. Bears can be very dangerous...they're called WILD for a reason! Remember to close the doors at night...do not rely on a simple screen to keep a bear out when he/she smells food!
So...here are a few pointers put out by the CA Fish and Game Dept.:
Do NOT feed or encourage any wild animals in the area! Do NOT leave food or garbage out at night.
Do NOT keep small pets outside at night.
NEVER approach a bear cub...mother isn't far behind! DO make noise while out hiking so these animals can avoid you...don't surprise a bear by being quite - it's dangarous!
IF encountered...DO NOT RUN (a bear or big cat will think you are prey!) DO make as much noise and appear to be as big as possible.
If attacked, DO, repeat DO fight back...playing dead will generally leave you in that condition.

PMC is a remote mountain setting and during the winter, weather conditions can change. The CHP requires that people traveling into the area carry snow chains, and in the event of a road closure, you will need to show your reservation paperwork to law enforcement to access PMC. In the event of a verified road closure that strands you at the property (rare), additional days will be booked at half price. It is up to you to risk the snow...travel with chains and be prepared!
